IN DESIGN: The international residents and tourist population in Estepona will benefit the theatre, Diputacion sources said.
ESTEPONA will have a new theatre by the end of 2014. The “Teatro de la Costa del Sol” auditorium will seat 600 people and will be located between the football stadium and the area where the “Feria” festival is usually placed.
Estepona’s Town Hall and the Malaga Government (Diputación) announced they will invest €6.4 million on a project also creating around 200 job positions. This is the largest budget share in the Diputación’s investment plan. The authorities say the new theatre may benefit a population of 500,000, as it will provide service to neighbouring towns, including Manilva, Marbella, Ojen, Istan and Benahavis. “We want it to become a cultural landmark in Costa del Sol,” Estepona Mayor Elias Bendodo said.
