A BABY seal that could have travelled 2,500 miles from its home in the Arctic has been enchanting lucky onlookers at Malaga City’s river mouth.Experts believe the animal was carried away by ocean currents after it turned up at the Guadalmedina River beside the Modern Art Centre (CAC Malaga).
Experts from the Endangered Sea Species Recovery Centre (CREMA) in Malaga eventually caught the pup. CREMA veterinary Juan Jose Castillo claimed the seal may be two to four months old, but was underweight for its age and needed their assistance.
He said it is common among baby seals to separate from adult seals at an early age, but they are rarely seen swimming in a Malaga river.
