MONTGO GOLF SOCIETY had a change of venue to the La Galiana course, north of Gandia. “The course was in superb condition and the settings stunning,” said society member Richard Morris.
The stableford competition was sponsored by George Braddick. The winner was the society’s only French member, Alain Nozahic, who scored 37 points from his 25.8 handicap.
In second place was KiwiRon Steele with 36 points from 14.9 with Norman Howell (14.4) taking third spot on 35 points. Two nearest the pins were won by guest Val Marrison on the fifth and Ros Fletcher at the 12th.
The longest drive was on the 15th hole and Alain added to his prizes by taking the men’s competition with guest Val getting her second prize of the day in the ladies event.
There was only one two today and that went to another of the ladies, Denise Cooper. The Society’s next game is at Oliva Nova on Friday September 21.
