TORROX’S budget was criticised by conservative Popular Party (PP) for not adapting to the adjustment plan.
The town council’s budget “does not fulfil the requirements of the recently passed adjustment plan and it shows no intention of controlling spending,” explained councillor and economic speaker of the PP, Maria Baena.
“It compromises the future viability of the town’s council and it is not apt to reality and the difficult economy. We want to point out that this budget does not fulfil the requirements in the least,” explained Baena.
Furthermore, the socialist government of Torrox were seven months late in submitting their 2012 budget, according to the councillor.
