THE Junta de Andalucia has presented a project to attract more tourists to the Alpujarra mountain area shared between Almeria and Granada. The project will cost the regional government a €716,914 investment, which will benefit 14 towns in Almeria. The money will go towards 19 projects that will modernise infrastructures and revalue the region’s natural resources; there will be motorhome parks, new viewpoints, and heritage interpretation centres. Also, landmarks including Arabic baths or medieval wells will be renovated in order to make La Alpujarra a more attractive destination for national and international visitors.
