Mallorca singer Leapy Lee has been challenged by B.I.C. student Will Scott to update his 1960s hit “Little Arrows”. Will heard Leapy sing the song at his school the Balears International College and, as a singer in the school band, he had the idea of recording a ´rap´ version. This led to an unlikely collaboration between the two singers who have a 56-year age gap.
The duo is now in the process of recording the new version on the track called “Little Arrows 2012” which will be released as a CD and available for download. They will then perform the song at various venues on the island and elsewhere. “Little Arrows” reached number two in the UK charts in 1968 and number sixteen in the American Billboard chart.
Laura Penn from Spectrum FM, the largest network of English radio stations in Spain, says that the track has every chance of being a hit all over again. “It is an incredibly catchy song and with a new 2012 twist it could be a winner with young and old alike.” she says.
