GUARDIA CIVIL are still searching for the perpetrators of a robbery from the Virgen de la Peña shrine in Mijas Pueblo. They entered in the early hours of the morning after putting out the exterior lights and forcing open the main door, in order to steal two gold crowns from the image of the Virgin and another two from the images of the Baby Jesus. The figures were slightly damaged during the intrusion and other items were also taken. Although security guards arrived promptly, no-one was found at the scene.
