A MASS of hot and dry air is set to drive temperatures up to 36oC in the Alicante Province on Sunday.
However, this is two degrees less than the average temperature of 38oC throughout Spain, according to weather agency Aemet.
The provinces of Valencia and Murcia will reportedly find themselves in similar hot temperatures. This hot and dry weather has put the emergency centre CCE on pre-emergency alert for the risk of forest fires in the Alicante Province and the inland Valencia Province.
CCE will be in contact with all the town halls and emergency services to inform them of the pre-emergency situation.
