THE mummified body of a man was found on land next to the Civil Hospital parking area in Malaga City.
The body was discovered by a worker who was clearing the land.
The deceased was wearing winter clothing and the documentation found on his person identified him as a man in his 40s who was reported missing in December.
Forensic tests are being carried out to confirm his identity and a post-mortem examination to discover the cause of death.
Residents had reportedly been complaining for months about the ‘abandoned’ state of the land in between the old kitchen building and the centre for people suffering from Alzheimer’s.
“We have been noticing a bad smell for months and have complained about the state the land is in as it was full of weeds and rats,” residents told Spanish press.
