Meanwhile, much-awaited work has also begun on Ferrara Beach in Torrox, which is the worst affected by storms in the Axarquia area since the seafront promenade was built in the late 80s. The sand which will be placed on the beach come from other beaches in Torrox.

In total, €150,000 will be spent on the beach so that it is ready for the summer, although a further €3 million will be invested in the future.

In Nerja, the next plenary meeting will include discussions regarding the town hall’s plan to request that the Junta de Andalucia Council of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment allow the placement of sun loungers on El Cañuelo Beach which is in the area of the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Park.
