Six arrested for allegedly stealing from cars

SIX people were arrested on larceny charges.

 

 

They are allegedly part of an organized gang that stole items from vehicles in areas frequented by tourists in Mallorca.
The main areas they targeted were Estellencs, Deia, Benyalbufar, Alcudia, Puerto Pollença, Escorca and Valldemosa, changing areas frequently.

 

Investigations into the gang’s activities began more than three months ago.

 

Three of the detainees were found in Port de Andratx and Deia.

 

Two of them are women, aged 52 and 32; the third a 32-year-old man.

 

The other three – two men and a woman aged between 32 and 45 – were arrested later the same day.

 

Two of the women are believed to have been in charge of choosing were to carry out the robberies.

 

The third women would keep a look out and let other members of the gang know if there was any police nearby.

 

One of the men was in charge of logistics and hiding the stolen items.

 

Another man from Senegal would allegedly receive the stolen items and less them through the internet.

 

Two laptops, seven iPhones, five other smart phones, three hard discs, a Reflex Sony camera, among other ítems, as well as tolos used to open vehicles were seized.

 

Also found on their person were three small doses of cocaine, two of marijuana and €400 in cash.
