THE cause of a fire at an apartment in Alicante City in which a dog died is under investigation to see if the fire was caused intentionally.
At the time of the fire, the house was locked and nobody, other than a dog and a cat.
The cat survived, but the dog, which was on the balcony of the fourth-storey apartment, jumped off and died.
It is believed the fire broke out around 4.15pm on Sunday in the living room of the apartment on Pasaje Navarra.
Fire-fighters had to break down the door to access the property to extinguish the flames.
