Right royal event for APASA dogs

APASA, a Javea based dog refuge is supported by many nationalities, all of whom entered into the spirit of the occasion, waving their Union Jack’s to Land of Hope and Glory and toasting her Majesty the Queen as if she were their own.

Salon de Canor is a top quality venue with beautiful gardens that provided APASA with the ideal pre-dinner setting to serve a few glasses of bubbly before eventually sitting down to enjoy an excellent dinner preceded by a seemingly never ending choice of tapa’s, supported by some good Spanish wines.

Gil and Ian Henry also known as ‘Double Impact’ supplied both cabaret and dancing until the early hours with the professionalism that has made them one of the most sought after musical acts around the Costa.

They donated their services free as did Heat Gold presenter Eric Taylor, who kept the evening running smoothly.

Fund raising is of course the name of the game and the hard working fund raising committee didn’t any waste time in parting the guests from their money with a raffle and table draw.

The final amount raised by the event was just under €2,500, a substantial amount that will benefit the 240 tail wagers back at the pound in terms of medical care, food, housing and hopefully eventual adoption.
