Two Brits injured in balcony plunges in Magalluf

TWO British holidaymakers were hospitalized within a three day period after falling from their Magalluf hotel balconies.

The first was a 24-year-old woman, the second a 26-year-old man.

Chantelle Serginson from Middlesbrough plunged 80ft from the sixth floor of the Hotel Marina Barracuda in Magalluf Friday evening.

She suffered multiple head and leg fractures and was taken to hospital in critical condition, although has since been moved out of intensive care to a regular ward.

She was staying at the hotel with her mother Kimberley and younger sister.

“We believe she lost her balance and fell, landing on the first floor balcony,” a Guardia Civil source told the Sunday Mirror.

“We do not believe she threw herself off intentionally.

It was a tragic accident.”

The Daily Mail revealed that Chantelle had fallen while trying to throw a spider out of her suitcase.

“We had found a spider in the suitcase and we were shouting and laughing about who was going to throw it,” said Kimberley.

“In the end we both grabbed the suitcase and threw the spider out.” It was at this point that Chantelle lost her balance and plunged to the ground.

Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, Jerry Daniel fell six meters from the second storey.

He was stabilized at the scene of the accident and taken to hospital with a suspected damaged spine and head injuries.

While his condition is described as serious, it is not life threatening.

He had reportedly been out drinking at bars with friends earlier and upon returning to the hotel began to play about near the balcony and lost his balance.

Earlier this month, a woman became the third British holiday maker to die after falling from hotels in the Mallorca resort town of Magalluf within a three week period.
