Manhunt for British man after stabbing at Oceano Beach Hotel

A BRITISH man who allegedly stabbed another at the Oceano Beach Hotel in Mijas Costa is wanted by the Guardia Civil.

The victim, aged 42 and also British, was taken to the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella in a serious condition, according to Press reports.

The incident took place in the hotel bar around 12.30am Tuesday when an argument reportedly broke out between two British couples.

The two women began to argue and their partners got involved.

The alleged attacker, a stocky man of average height in his 30s, was escorted out of the hotel by staff twice after he came back in.

The third time he kicked the door open as staff were trying to close it, flailing his arms and legs while brandishing a knife, according to staff reports.

He hit a member of staff and then approached the victim, who was standing at the bar – with half a dozen other people – from behind and stabbed him under the armpit before rushing out and fleeing in a car.

Local Police and Guardia Civil are searching for the vehicle and attempting to identify the attacker.

This was the first time that staff can remember having seen the couples in the establishment, but they made reservations and these details have been passed on to the police.

“This is very shocking for us all,” said the hotel manager.

“Oceano is a privately operated and family run hotel and in 11 years, this is the first time something like this has happened,” said the hotel manager.

“It is a respectable hotel. This is very shocking for us all. Something we are not accustomed to.” he repeated
