Top travel media to vist Costa Blanca

Travel journalists and tour operators associated with media companies in Mexico, Poland and Germany, will be visiting the Costa Blanca this summer.

They will do so at the invitation of the Diputacion De Alicante, Costa Blanca Tourist department.

The aim is to promote the Costa as a top holiday resort with the accent on quality, taste and hospitality.

Costa Blanca Tourism Deputy Joaquín Albaladejo recently met with Javier Lopez, senior market analyst at the Embassy of Spain in Poland and Michal Szmyt, of tour operator Itaka, to discuss tour details.

Deputy Joaquina said that media tours will be encompassing all the Costa’s key attractions including local culture, dining, beaches, hotels and surrounding landscapes and that each group of visitors will be looking to promote different aspects of the Costa Blanca.

She announced that as a result of a meeting with the Polish Embassy, TO Ithaca, the largest provider of Polish tourists have already announced that they are planning to launch a direct charter flight from Warsaw to Alicante from May 2013 and is studying the possibility of extending this air link from the Polish city of Katowice.

She added that they will be looking for a full range of quality hotels, especially four and five star, located in quiet and secluded areas.

The representatives will be touring locations in Benidorm, La Villajoyosa, El Campello, Mutxamel, Alicante, Rojales, Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja, Orihuela and Pilar de la Horadada.

Meanwhile, a group of Mexican journalists will be attending a conference themed on Spanish Castles and the gastronomy incorporating visits to Villena, Biar, Alicante and Denia as well as various wineries.

In advance of the summer promotion, this month will see five journalists from prestigious German travel magazines tripping round Alicante and Altea at the invitation of the up-market, luxury Asia Gardens Hotel situated in the hills overlooking Benidorm.

All these Diputacion De Alicante promotional activities are in addition to the recently announced drive for tourism within the Russian market.
