British fugitive held after hostage drama

A BRITISH man was arrested in Alhaurin el Grande for allegedly locking his ex-wife and children in a house for several days. He had fled the UK two years ago while on release from prison for a crime committed in 1993 and was living in Spain under a false identity, National Police said. His wife had left him in January and gone back to the UK, but was visiting Spain for a few days so he could see their children.

The woman’s sister, who had come with them, was allowed to leave and reported the situation to the police.

She also told them that the man threatened her sister with a gun and caused her several injuries, including cuts to the neck.

He also refused to give her the asthma medication she required.

Police caught him while he was driving and when asked where his former partner and children were, he told them they would never find them.

However, the woman’s sister provided directions to the urbanization in Alhaurin el Grande.

Two guns were found in the house.
