100 and still going strong

PRESIDENT Ian Nixon welcomed 27 members and guests of the Rotary International Fellowship to Mapa Mundi in Denia. They included Denia Councillor Marcela Server, whose responsibilities include international relations, for their 100th meeting.

After lunch Marcela explained her responsibilities within the council and the members ended the meeting with the Rotary Toast ‘Rotary and Peace the world over’ and a celebratory glass of cava.

The Fellowship, which consists of current, or past members of Rotary, or any other Service Organisation, together with their partners and invited guests meets twice a month, except during the summer, for an enjoyable meal and fellowship.

A number of different nationalities are involved but the meeting language is English.

If you would like to join them at their next meeting on Tuesday June 5, call 965 748 909 by Sunday June 3.

Over the six years the Fellowship has been in existence they have managed to raise around €3,500, most of which has been donated to local worthwhile causes, and anticipate donating a further €1,000 this year.
