MARBELLA City Hall has decided to take legal action after the Junta de Andalucia announced it would retain money which the city is entitled to.
The municipal spokesman, Felix Romero, announced the would appeal in a Malaga Contentious Administrative Court to demand that the regional government return the €2 million it has retained from Marbella in Participations in State Income (PIE).
This money is given to city halls which fulfill certain requirements to make sure they have resources to carry out the functions attributed to them by law.
The money comes from a percentage of the cities’ own taxes.
