Briton on ‘Most wanted’ list is arrested in Manilva

A MAN, 34, who was amongst Britain’s ‘most wanted’ was arrested by Guardia Civil in Manilva.

There was a European arrest warrant against the man, identified as Martin Wolstenholme, who was allegedly involved in drug trafficking in 2010 and the kidnapping of a 22-year-old man with another three people in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

They allegedly demanded a ransom from the victim’s family, although the man, who has mental health issues and had refused to sell drugs to his kidnappers, was released unharmed without the money being paid.

The warrant was requested by the courts in Stoke on Trent (Staffordshire) the Guardia Civil reported. He fled the UK in 2011 upon learning he was wanted by the police and the crimes he had committed could land him with a life sentence.

He hid on the Costa del Sol and was living with a woman who was unaware that he was using a false identity.

He almost never left the house during the day, according to reports.

However, the Guardia Civil saw him coming out of the house one day and followed him into a Chinese Bazaar where he attacked one of the arresting officers and fled.

He was eventually arrested after causing considerable damage in the shop and was injured in the arrest.
