Russian prBILINGUAL: Mrs Sedova and her Russian as a foreign language pupils.
25 CHILDREN and adults attend Russian language classes at Garrucha Town Hall’s Casa de la Juventud on Sundays.
The president of the New CCCP Russian association, Masha Sedova said that in Garrucha, people from the ex-Soviet Union are well-integrated into the community.
She said that the mayor and the town hall encourage the New CCCP’s activities and have been very kind to lend them the classroom at the community centre for their Russian lessons.
Teacher Tamara Sedova also teaches her younger students some history, because the New CCCP believes it’s important that children understand their roots.
She said that she makes the classes fun, motivating the children by singing and playing games. Most of the students are from the former Eastern block countries but the classes are open to people of all ages and nationalities.
