MIJAS council will allow wild boar to be hunted down with dogs or trapped in cages.
The boar, which are growing in numbers, have long been devastating private gardens and golf courses as they search for food.
The town hall decided that the time had come to seek solutions. Mijas mayor Angel Nozal discussed the matter last November with Elias Bendodo, president of the Malaga Diputacion.
Permission has now come through from regional government to flush out the animals with dog packs or lure them into specially constructed cages.
Use of firearms will still not be allowed under any circumstances.
