AROUND 3,200 people of various nationalities attended the Sardine Festival in La Cala de Mijas.
During the course of the festival 680kg of sardines were made into 1,200 espetos were made.
These are sardines skewered on pieces of bamboo and cooked over a fire in the sand. Various performances were held on the stage to keep the crown entertained.
