The Duquesa Society of St George help Age Concern

A €600 DONATION was given to the president of Age Concern in Estepona and Manilva by The Duquesa Society of St George at their 2012 dinner.

The event was organised by Dean Shelton from Manilva’s Foreign Residents Department at The Cortijo Vizcaronda in Duquesa.

Jan Mitchell helped Dean obtain donations for the charity raffle prizes, some of which were donated by Lesley and John from the Jolly Sailor and from Dean himself.

The evening’s entertainment was performed by Trevor Brooks and Michelle Daniels.

The donated money will be used to support the work of Age Concern volunteers who assist older people in the community.

Meanwhile, Age Concern urgently needs volunteers to work in the shop in Estepona, and/or work in the community with older people, and/or help with fundraising.

No experience is needed as training will be provided.

If interested in helping those in needs of assistance and advice call Eileen Dry on 608 458 555.

For older people who require help or advice Age Concern operate a telephone service called Lifeline.

This gives the individual a direct point of contact with the charity.

The telephone number is 650 163 928. It should be noted that Age Concern is not an emergency service.

There is also an email address where you can contact Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva.
