THE new luxurious five-star Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa has opened for business.

Present at the inaugural ceremony was the Delgado del Gobierno Jose Maria Rodriquez, the Consell de Mallorca President Maria Salom, Soller Mayor Carlos Simarro, Balearic Naval Commander Jose Maria Lavilla, Tourism Director General Jaime Martinez Llabres and Mallorca Chamber of Commerce Presendent Joan Gual de Torroella.

Also present at the cutting of the ribbon was the Executive Chairman of the Dubai based Jumeirah Group Gerald Lawless, the hotel’s Director Fernando Gibaja and other top management, and Christoper Huetwhol, a representative from DEKA Inmobilien.

The opening has been called a contribution to “quality tourism, necessary for positioning Mallorca as a destination of excellence and prestige on both a national and international level,” by Barbera and Salom.

The 120 room property spread across eleven low-rise buildings aloft the cliffs overlooking the port has restaurants, bars, three pools and a spa, which locals can get membership for.
