A DOCTOR died in an ultralight plane accident.
Originally from Colombia, the divorced father of two worked at a private hospital in Alicante.
The 55-year-old was flying the plane when it crashed in an orange orchard near Cami La Mola in Albalat de la Ribera (Valencia), around 200m after take-off.
Emergency Services received a call from someone who witnessed the crash, but by the time they arrived the man was already dead.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, but initial thoughts are that it was due to a fracture in one of the plane’s wings.
In the same month, nine years ago, National Police Inspector, 40, died while flying an ultralight plane by the same aerodrome.
