FOUR people were arrested in Alicante City for allegedly posing as gas inspectors.
They wore sweatshirts with the logo of a butane gas company and went around properties in an urbanisation to carry out maintenance and inspections of the gas canisters in people’s homes.
After they had carried-out one of these ‘false inspections’, the property owner was suspicious so called the Police (091).
Officers noticed two people waiting in a car, while the other two were inside a block of flats.
They reportedly caught them trying to charge a resident €445 for gas maintenance and installation services.
Officers checked that they did not work for any gas company and arrested them in connection with the various fake gas inspections being carried out in the Alicante Province.
At the time of arrest numerous documents, contracts, receipts, materials and tools were seized.
