Thanks to an agreement brokered by Costa Blanca Deputy Vice President for Tourism Joaquin Albaladejo, Costa Blanca coffers could soon be overflowing with Russian roubles.
At a ground breaking meeting in Moscow where the Vice President met with Valery Korovkin, Head of the International department of Russian Federation of Tourism, Albaladejo announced, “We have reached an agreement with the Federal Agency for Tourism to promote Costa Blanca tourism within all regions and territories of the Russian Federation.”
This good news for the economy followed a series of meetings held with major Russian tour operators, including Natalie Tours and TUI, the largest organisations in the country, professional media consultants and heads of state run companies, at which a framework of collaboration was agreed alongside investment opportunities within the province.
Under the umbrella of Turespaña, the Costa Blanca were represented at the MITT trade fair in Moscow at which they promoted the beaches, interior, culture and cuisine of the province that spans 141 municipalities.
The Fair is the largest held annually in Russia and attracts around 80,000 visitors and 3,000 exhibitors.
More than 10,000 Russians families have already made their homes on the Costa Blanca.
