THE RUSSIANS are coming, or so hope Torrevieja’s Department of Tourism, as they are in Russia this week as part of the Costa Blanca Provincial Tourism initiative, at the International Tourism Fair in Moscow (MITT).
At the Tourism Fair they are presenting the city’s new guidebook, “Torrevieja, calidad de vida – Torrevieja, quality of life”, produced specially to promote Torrevieja at major international trade fairs in Berlin, Paris, Oslo, Gothenburg and London.
At the launch of the guidebook in Torrevieja, Mayor Eduardo Dolon said “Torrevieja has the ability to offer a fantastic quality of life for all its visitors.
This guide is designed to promote international tourism, highlighting our 320 days of sunshine a year, the 18C-annual mean temperature and 19C of annual-average sea temperature and great quality of life.”
“Torrevieja, quality of life”, is printed on quality paper stock, is 29 pages thick and contains an ‘image bank of photographs’ plus details about the city and her attractions.
The guide is available in Spanish, English, German, French, Russian, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish and 10,000 editions have been published.
At the Moscow Fair, Torrevieja’s Department of Tourism are meeting with Russian agents, in order to promote the city to Russian tourists and with the possibility of attracting Hotel investment.
Dolon noted “The Russian market has significant tourism potential for the city of Torrevieja and the whole Alicante province. We hope this is the starting point of attracting a brand new market to our city.”
