Facebook page to demand exhumation of mayor

THE family of the ‘last republican mayor of Cuevas del Almanzora’ has created a group on Facebook to raise support.

Martin Marquez Navarro was executed after the Spanish Civil War and buried in a communal grave at a cemetery in Almeria city.

His family wishes to make his story known and claims that Almeria City Hall has stopped taking measures to allow his remains to be exhumed from the grave and given a proper burial, something they have been demanding for years.
