Spain’s professional football clubs owe millions in taxes

SPAIN’S professional football clubs owe €752 million to the Tax Office. According to data published by the Spanish government for January 1 this year, First Division clubs owe €489,930,880; Second Division clubs €184,180,499; and those in lower divisions €78,185,978.

The amount owed has risen by €150 million over the past four years, and that’s not all, as these figures “don’t reflect what they owe to the Social Security” the left-wing party Izquierda Unida pointed out.
