Bollywood comes to Benidorm

SHOOTING of scenes from Bollywood movie ‘Anna Bond’ began Monday in Benidorm.

The stars of the romantic action Kannada (Indian language) film, Puneeth Rajkumar, Nidhi Subbaiah and Priyamani with Jackie Shroff as the villain.

While the majority of the movie was shot at various locations in India, three of the five musical choreographed scenes in the film are being produced in Benidorm by Spanish company Camino Media.

The first scene was shot at Paseo de Poniente followed by Benidorm Castle, specifically the stair area.

Later, scenes were shot at Plaza de SSMM los Reyes de España and Parque de l’Aiguera. Over a 10 day period the production team plans to shoot scenes across the country including in Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, Segovia and possibly La Mancha.

The movie is set to be released April 2012 in India. Total production costs are reportedly around €2 million and it expected it will bring in around €10 million.

This is not the first time that Bollywood has chosen Benidorm to shoot scenes in its productions.
