Specsavers Opticians in Santa Ponça marked the leap year in style by holding a charity event which saw guests get a new look for 2012 with a free makeover and Zumba class.

Councillor for the European Community Angela Guerrero and more than 50 people attended throughout the day and raised much needed funds for Allen Graham Charity for Kidz.

Members of the local community were invited to come to the store in Avda. Rei Jaume to enjoy a free pampering session from the beauticians at Santa Ponça Country Club which included makeup, GHD hair styling and Shellac manicures.

There was also a free Zumba class held at the store for guests to try. Store Manager Martin Blake tells us about the open day; “It was great to see customers having fun and leaving our store with a brand new look and attitude towards wearing glasses.

The Shellac nails were particularly popular and everyone made a donation to the charity. It was a highly enjoyable event for the community which raised money & awareness for our chosen charity and we certainly plan to hold similar events in the future.”

Specsavers have supported the Allen Graham Charity for Kidz in a number of ways, since their collaboration in July 2011, with various raffles and open days being held to help raise funds and awareness for the worthy cause.

Charity President Rosemary Stone commented “Specsavers have been a great support to the Allen Graham Charity, offering free eye tests to the children and holding events to raise funds.

This has enabled us to help even more local children and families in need.”

Donations to the charity can be made throughout the year at Specsavers Opticians in Avda. Rei Jaume.
