A WOMAN, 56, was arrested in Abla, for allegedly killing her mother, 83, who was known locally for working as a cook at a school just 100 metres from her home.
She had recently returned to the town after spending several days at a psychiatric facility in Almeria city where she had been receiving treatment.
Almost two months ago, the depression from which she had been suffering reportedly worsened, although until Sunday afternoon, she had not shown any violent behaviour.
She had been on leave from work for two months.
She was taken for questioning for the Guardia Civil who have not yet released an official statement as they are waiting for the results of the investigation into how the events took place.
Mother and daughter lived just across the road from each other and saw each other almost every day.
