Microsoft co-founder’s yacht in Malaga port

Microsoft co-founder, billionaire Paul Allen, has chosen Malaga to carry out maintenance on the ‘Tatoosh’, the smaller of his two yachts.

The luxury yacht has been at Quay 2 of Malaga Port for several weeks, costing him around €1,000 per day for mooring alone.

On board the 92-metre yacht, which has two helipads, there are 25 crew-members of several nationalities, but Bill Gates’s associate is not expected.

The crew is carrying out tasks on board, and several mechanics, carpenters and upholsterers have been hired to get the engines and décor in shape.

The ‘Tatoosh’ is considered the 38th largest superyacht in the world and has one main cabin and a further nine for guests, two cabins for the crew, cinema, pool, and two lounges.

Originally built for mobile phone magnate Craig McCaw, Tatoosh was completed in June 2000. She was purchased by Paul Allen in 2001 at a reported cost of $100 million.
