SATURDAY saw the Sponsored Walk take place in Alcudia in aid of Victoria’s Animal Refuge (Pro Animales Mallorca).
Thirty-five dogs took their owners and friends on the walk from The Magic Roundabout in Alcidia to The English Bridge (and back).
The group had lunch at The English Bridge before returning to Alcudia.
The event last year raised more than €2,000 towards the care of animals in the refuge, and it is hoped that this year’s event will raise a similar amount, despite the difficult financial situation.
The event was organised by Linda Feldman, John McGuire and Malcolm Williams.
Victoria, who runs Pro Animales.“These are difficult financial times for everyone in the world, but there is no other world for these animals,” said Linda, after the event.
“They rely on the world we create for them. A donation of €5 can supply three cans of dog food or a small bag of dog food complete.
We want to thank everybody who took part, but in particular we want to thank Bob, John and Lesley, who provided the back-up and support and helped with the distribution of food.”
