Sophia Walk for Life fund receives cheque

A cheque for €1,145 was presented to the Sophia Walk for Life fund on Wednesday February 1 at the ten-pin bowling alley in Arboleas.

The money was raised by the Arboleas forum members and sponsors from the sale of calendars.

The Walk for Life is planned for Saturday May 12 and will raise money to help people living locally who are affected by cancer.

Last year the Sophia Walk for Life raised more than €10,000 which helped cancer patients and their families pay mortgages and bills, for mobility hire, translators, fuel, nursing care and funeral expenses.

The Sophia Walk for Life committee said a very big thank you to everyone involved with the Arboleas forum calendars and especially to those people who bought one.
