HAVING come across a facebook page on the plight of little Kiera Alvarez Turner, an Alfas girl, 4, with cerebral palsy, Phil Pennick, the captain of Sporting Alfas cricket club organised a charity 20:20 cricket day at the club’s Albir ground last Saturday, raising more than €2,500 on the day.
Keira needs approximately €15,000 to pay for the next level of treatment to help her with her condition.
The day consisted of the 20-20 cricket match, with a game of ‘kwick cricket’ in between the innings for the juniors in the crowd , as well as a mum’s fun race around some stumps.
There was also a bouncy castle, kindly sponsored by Continental Wealth Management as well as all day children’s activities supplied by the team at Cheeky Monkies.
Phil Pennick would like to give his thanks to all who helped and attended. Keira’s progress can be followed on her facebook page.
