OPTICAL chain Specsavers Opticas announced that their Javea and Calpe stores will be supporting a number of charities over the next 12 months.

They are working to support Caritas, The Lions Club and also EMAUS with many different activities including fundraising, supporting their campaigns and raising awareness for the charities.

One of their campaigns is to collect second hand glasses for The Lions Club.

Specsavers Opticas in Javea and Calpe serve as drop off points for second hand glasses and they want to encourage everyone to put their old glasses to good use.

They have also been supporting EMAUS Children’s Home in Altea by donating glasses to children living in the home.

This relationship will be continuing throughout the year. Another charity they are supporting is Caritas, a charity working on behalf of needy families and individuals around the world, who find themselves without the basic necessities of life, such as food, clothing and shelter.

Recently the charity was asked to help a little boy who badly needed glasses but could not afford them.

His school work and daily life was being affected by poor eyesight so Caritas got in touch with Specsavers Javea, who were very pleased to be in a position to help the young boy get some brand new glasses at no cost to the family.
