Fugitive arrested in Mojacar

A BELGIAN man, 63, was arrested in Mojacar on a European arrest warrant as he was wanted for fraud and document falsification.

In 2007 a couple made a complaint against Jean Marie W., who had convinced them to invest their savings in a hotel project in the Irish city of Bree.

They handed over €62,000 which he moved to his bank account. He was sentenced to two years in prison but fled the country.

INTERPOL received news that he was living in Almeria and informed the National Police who arrested him in Calle Costa Levante, Mojacar.
