STRAWBERRY growers in Huelva have complained that Moroccan produce is being sold on the Spanish market as if it was national.
They have complained that this is a fraud because the Moroccan fruit is of inferior quality and chemicals are used on them which are banned in the EU.
However, the Huelva Association of Strawberry Producers and Exporters (Freshuelva) has detected sales of Moroccan strawberries marked as Spanish produce in Barcelona and in the South of France.
They have contacted the supermarkets to prevent this from continuing.
