BENALMADENA is set to become home to the largest marina in Andalucia and one of the largest in Spain.
The Councillor for Public Works and Housing, Josefina Cruz, met with the local mayor, Javier Carnero, to give him the go-ahead for the project which will see the number of berths at the marina doubled to 1,700 once the work is complete.
The town hall now has six months to draw up plans for the project and once this is approved by the Andalucian Public Ports Agency, it can be put out for public tender.
