ARE you desperate to find out how to lose weight healthily but do not know where to start?
Every time you climb on the scales or look in the mirror уоu think ‘I need to lose weight’, or trying on an outfit which the washing machine seems to have shrunk and feels so much tighter!
People assume losing weight or going on а diet is a simple straight forward affair.
We very well know that this is not the case. Choosing the best diet for уоurѕelf, (I prefer to call it an Eating Plan) or what is а good diet or not, it is not as easy as it sounds.
So how should we go about choosing which Eating Plan to go on remembering that all diets work? Whether high-fat, low-fat, high protein or high in carbohydrates, they work.
The bottom line is that even though some are healthier than others, virtually all diets are equally effective in the short term.
Permanent weight loss, however, is about long-term lifestyle management. It is therefore essential to choose an Eating plan which is well balanced and provides calcium, fibre and all the essential vitamins and nutrients for good health.
It is also important to choose an Eating Plan which can be flexible, full of variety and can also fit in with all the families’ meals if necessary.
An eating plan which is not to restrictive and can allow some treats without having to feel deprived. One you can fit around work schedules and is not too expensive.
Once you have done your homework and decided on the plan to follow it’s time to start believing that you can do it as this is essential to shedding pounds.
If you want to change your actions, you must begin by changing your thoughts. I’m going to share a simple test that has been used for years to show you the effect of visualising and belief has on your body.
Stand up, take one arm, raise it to shoulder height and pointing your fingers directly out in front of you, begin to turn your arm as far out and behind you as you can.
If it’s your right arm move it out to the right, if it’s your left, move it out to the left. When you have moved your arm as far behind you as you can, look behind you and notice where it is.
Now return your arm to the starting position in front of you then close your eyes for a moment.
Just imagine and believe your arm moving even further this time, as much as 25% further behind you, really see this in your mind and believe it will happen.
Say this to yourself three or four times. Now open your eyes and repeat the arm movement and notice just how much further it goes. Now, believe you can lose weight.
