Rugby Union comes to Albox

Albox Rugby Club had its first experience of a full game in a friendly against a visiting club from Totana on Sunday January, 15.

This is one of several games planned for this season in preparation for joining the Andalucian League.

The game was played before a crowd of well over 100 enthusiastic supporters in the Football ground in Albox.

The first half was dominated by the more experienced players of Totana, and at half time the score was 10-0 to Totana.

However, the Albox Team were not daunted by the experience and put the pressure on in the second half, eventually breadking through the Totana defence to score a try and conversion.

Final score was 7-17 with victory going to the visiting team and a great day was had by all.

Richard Winder ( ex- Verulamians and Barton Under Needwood player) was voted Man of the Match for Albox.

Club de Rugby Albox is a registered sports association and is looking for more players and supporters.
