Junta fights for the Extreme Sailing Series

THE Junta de Andalucia is negotiating with the Provincial government, Almeria city hall and the Extreme Sailing Series organizers, in order to hold one of the competitions in the city.

The Tourism, Sport and Commerce Councillor, Luciano Alonso, said that another meeting would be held next Thursday, which he hopes will result in an agreement for Almeria to hold the Extreme Sailing Series for the first year running.

Over the past three years, the Junta has paid for the event, but he said that this would be impossible this year due to budget cuts, and that the collaboration of the city hall and the provincial government are needed.

He also said he would ask the organizers to reduce the costs.
