A SWISS tourist was arrested for scratching a heart and initials on a wall at the Alhambra Palace in Granada.
The woman was set free after spending a night in a cell charged with a crime against national heritage.
She was caught by staff at the Alhambra scratching a heart of approximately one centimetre with initials on either side with her nails on the entrance to the ‘Golden Room’.
The staff called reprimanded her, but she continued, so they called the National Police.
She refused to give a statement to the police but appeared before a judge the following day.
The manager’s of the Alhambra have sent a letter to the Swiss Embassy.
