Javea U3A donate money to Caritas

CHEQUES for the final donation of €3,248 raised by the Javea U3A throughout 2011 were presented to Caritas at the ‘Fisherman’s Church’.

The donations were equally divided between the Caritas branches of the Port and the Pueblo.

They were presented to Maria Jesus Llona, the President of Caritas, representing the Pueblo and Immaculada Yañez, the Director of Caritas Puerto and Cornelius Wiedenhoff, the Treasurer of Caritas.

The monies raised by the Javea U3A were from charitable functions organised by the U3A Events Organiser and many of the members.

The Javea U3A will be starting off the New Year with their first open meeting on Wednesday January 25 at the usual venue of Parador Hotel at which time members can renew their subscriptions and book up for the variety of interesting and enjoyable activities that are being offered for 2012.
