Alfa Romeo Spider set on fire in Playa Flamenca

POLICE are said to be searching for two people suspected of setting fire to a luxury car on an estate in Playa Flamenca.

It was around 10.30pm on Friday when an Alfa Romeo Spider caught fire on the Dream Hills 2 estate.

“I was watching television when I heard a big bang,” said the owner of the car, James Willis, who is originally from London and moved to Spain seven years ago.

“I rushed to the terrace and saw the front of my car on fire so called the fire department. It took 20 minutes for them to arrive and while waiting a Spanish neighbour’s Ford Fiesta was damaged by the fire too.”

“It was around 10.30pm and a neighbour saw a man and a woman in their 40’s running away shortly before my car turned into an inferno.

The man was described as being slim, with white skin and about 5ft9 and was wearing a white shirt, while the woman was shorter, chubby and with dark hair, according to the witness. “

Police told me that they suspected the fire was caused by arson, but I cannot think of anybody who has anything against me, so I believe it was a random act,” said James.
