A 2.1 GRADE earthquake was felt by people in various villages in Pla, Mallorca, at 1am on Monday.
Its epicentre was between Sineu, Petra and 1km from Sant Joan at 5km depth. “I was in my bed, but not yet asleep, when i realized that the house was moving,” said Francisca, who lives in San Joan.
“At first I thought a beam had fallen and I woke up my husband. When we went outside we saw some of our neighbours who had also felt the tremor.”
Despite being felt, there have not been any reports of damage to properties or injuries.
Only three people called the 112 emergency services number.
