A MAN was arrested in Girona – northeast Spain – for killing his 18-month-old daughter, claiming “the devil ordered” him to do so.
Police report that the detainee, in his mid-thirties, called the emergency services to report what he had done, and when they arrived, they found the child’s decapitated body on a bed.
His other daughter, aged six, was also in the house at the time, but was unhurt.
The mother was at work at the time and had to be treated for a nervous breakdown after receiving the news.
Medical evaluations will determine if the killer suffers any mental conditions.
The family had lived in the building for two years and he was unemployed and took care of the children while his wife was at work in the health sector.
